Reference photos for paintings
Reference photos come in handy for painting. The above photos are my own with the exception of the geranium and the two blueberry photos. Those 3 were found at Wikipedia, which is a pretty good source for reference photos since most of them are released for use by the public. As Heiner Hertling says, " Your painting is only as good as your reference." Other tips for achieving effects with brushes can be found by watching another PBS instructional series by Jerry Yarnell. A good website for information on painting and artists and other types of art is EmptyEasel.com .

In Marquette you can find pre-streched panoramic canvasses that would accomodate these types of images at The Art of Framing located downtown. They have 8"x24", 10"x20" and other sizes from Art Alternatives.
